Intercepting Our Youth is a non-profit organization founded in 2004. The foundation's primary focus is to award scholarships to students in Baton Rouge, LA. Our mission is to engage scholars in service projects instilling in them the importance of giving back.
Students selected for the award are required to participate in service programs through the foundation. Service programs have included volunteering at Our Lady of the Lake Children's Hospital, Camp Leaders at the foundation's summer camp, volunteering as mentors/speakers at foster care facilities, and serving our seniors at local nursing homes.
The Jimmy Williams Scholarship was re-named in August of 2007, to honor the memory of Cora Lee "Auntee" Jones. "Auntee" pictured right with Jimmy at his EHS hall of fame induction in April of 2007, was killed in a car accident on August 23, 2007.
Ms. Cora Lee Jones was the matriarch of the Williams Family, and dedicated her life to helping and caring for others. She was indeed an inspiration to Jimmy and is largely responsible for both his academic and athletic successes.
